CALZIFICIO REAL - A COMPANY IN CONSTANT DEVELOPMENT Calzificio Group was founded at the beginning of the seventies in Castel Goffredo - the international hosiery centre - producing for private labels, a business which quickly distinguished itself as an ideal partner. Constant development replaced the initial production plant into a pool of companies in Italy and abroad. Today, in figures, the group has a capacity of 70 millions pairs of pantyhose which can be easily doubled due to its modern and advanced production plants. It has 800 machines (hosiery & underwear) and 700 employees. THE CALZIFICIO REAL AND THE CASTEL GOFFREDO'S DISTRICT Calzificio Real is one of the most important realities inside the industrial district within the social context of Castel Goffredo and the surrounding areas. The company is one of the three-production entities organized within a full circle and finds itself in the middle of the " star system " which allows the development of the most important Italian production district. This is because the production of ladies' hosiery is concentrated in the few square kilometres around Castel Goffredo, Mantua region, in the area called " The tights capital ". This has total turnover of € 1.200.000.000 per year with an export of € 754.000.000.
